The Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee is always looking for individuals and groups who are interested in being a part of our team and helping us put on the annual parade. We need more than 100 volunteers to help us plan and put the parade on the road. Volunteers are needed before, during and after the parade. This is a great way to get a “behind the scenes look”, at how a huge parade is produced and to meet new, interesting people and have fun. Our returning volunteers can tell you that being part of the Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a very rewarding experience.

We have jobs of all sizes – you can help as little or as much as you would like. Listed below are just a few of the positions where we need help. For a complete list of various committees, click on the application.

three-leaf-clover-1Parade Route Marshals
We need 10 Parade Marshals whose primary responsibility is to keep the parade safe and enjoyable for everyone. Marshals will be stationed along the parade route to keep marching units, floats, and participants properly spaced and to enforce the rules governing participants’ conduct. They will also help keep the route clear of obstacles maintain the curb line, and prevent spectators from moving into the street. Parade Marshalls must be 21 years or older

three-leaf-clover-1Unit Hosts/Hostesses
We need more than 100 Hosts/Hostesses whose primary responsibility is to walk with a unit and make certain that they keep up the pace and prevent gaps. The minimum age for these individuals is 18.

three-leaf-clover-1Other Positions
Besides parade marshals and host/hostess, we need help with registration & check-in, Division Captains, route setup/break down, distribution of program journals to the spectators and logistics/supply.

Aside from the parade there are other volunteer opportunities for volunteering at events throughout the year — the golf & tennis tournaments, the Grand Marshal’s Investiture Cocktail Party, the Tree Lighting, our various fundraisers at locals bars, and others.

Please inquire about these alternate positions, or list it as a choice on the application form. The number of volunteer positions for each function may be limited, so no guarantees are made.

If you’re interested in joining the committee or in just volunteering for a specific task, please use the form above or complete the volunteer application.

There’s nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer.
